Yatzy has taken on a new role as stepmother to a litter of Bernese Mountain dogs! Or maybe just likes to play with them… Very cute though. Thanks for the photos Veronica!

A photo from Wayne

May 15, 2012

Today we got a nice photo from Wayne, Enigma I Do It My Way, who lives in Lithuania. So lovely to see him mature and look what a beautiful head he has now. The photo is of Wayne (closest to camera), his owner Aide and “sister” Bure. Thank you Aide for taking such good care of Wayne and thanks for sending photos!

Nice result for Zäta

May 12, 2012

Today it was an outdoor sighthound club show down south in Ljungbyhed. The forecast was not good and it turned out even worse! A very cold day with storm winds and rain. Zäta, Ch. Enigma Sheer Magic, was the only Enigma there. She hates the rain and normally looks more close to a whippet when forced to go out in it! Though she did very well – BOB veteran and later BIS-3 veteran! Congrats to owner and handler Anna Grevin.

I was there doing judges training for Saluki and seven hours later I still feel cold to the bone! Almost feels like a criminal act to force sighthounds (and other short haired breeds) to show well in this kind of weather!

Lidköping national KC show 2 x BOB

May 6, 2012

Yesterday Madelene and I drove from home at four o’clock in the morning to go to the show in Lidköping. Basenjis in the morning, Justin (Ch. Enigma Just Watch Me) was BOB and Zazo (Enigma Dreamcatcher) was second best male with CC. Kayla (Ch. Khani’s Midnight Star) was second best bitch. Pharaoh Hounds had a late ring time in the afternoon and young Rut (Enigma Sweet Ruth O’Mine) did her second official show ever and was BOB with CC from junior class not even eleven months old. Vega (Ch. Enigma Surprise Me) was third best bitch and best veteran.

In the veteranfinals Vega made the cut but was not placed, looking a bit tired today and also she was a bit fat! (I complained to Madelene about it all day so I think she got the message ;) ) In the group I took “the little maniac” Justin and Madelene handled Rut. They ended up as fourth and third in the group! Not bad having two home-bred dogs placed in the same group! Very pleased with the day!

Thanks to Martina (Rut’s mom) for taking most of the photos as well as Kerstin and Madelene taking the basenji photos. Lots of Rut’s photos coming up :)

Zenji wins first prize

May 1, 2012

Zenji, Enigma Dream Come True, entered an official obedience competition yesterday and won first prize in obedience class 1. We are very happy that Zenji’s owner Anne works so hard with him and shows the potential of this breed – if one wants something really bad… ;) Anne has high set goals for Zenji and we wish them all the luck for the upcoming competitions!

Justin BOB at Västerås

May 1, 2012

This Saturday it was a national KC show in Västerås. 16 basenjis present and two of them owned by us and one more from our breeding. Justin, Enigma Just Watch Me, was BOB and later Group-4. Kayla, Khani’s Midnight Star, was BOS and her son Zazu, Enigma Dreamcatcher, won the junior class and was fourth best male.

In the Pharaoh Hound ring only Sandra’s Asta, Enigma Something To Remember, was entered from us. She won the junior class with excellent but no CK this time. She did well but still needs to relax a bit more on the move.

A good day had by all.
